Otherwise known for her full name Lee Chae-rin, CL was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea. However, she travelled a lot because of her father’s occupation as a physics professor. Thus, she had spent some years in Japan and France, and she is fluent in several languages including French, Japanese, English and Korean. During her teenage years, though, she and her family finally settled in South Korea. As a performer, she became known for her first hit song called “Into”, which she recorded in 2007. She also had a few appearances in various music videos that increased her media exposure.
